According to Fabrizio Romano, who spoke to Caught Offside, Chelsea and Atletico are nearing an agreement for Gallagher, valued between €35m and €40m. The final decision now rests with the player. Atletico is trying to convince Gallagher to move to La Liga, with his choice being crucial for the transfer’s success.
While Atletico already has considerable midfield depth, Gallagher would bring a more commanding presence. Koke Resurreccion and Rodrigo de Paul might struggle to maintain their intensity over multiple ninety-minute matches each week, and Gallagher could provide the necessary edge.
