Bayelsa State is currently experiencing a power outage due to the interference of suspected vandals with two transmission towers, T98 and T99, located in the Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area.
This disruption has resulted in the failure of two 132kV lines that deliver electricity to the state from Owerri in Imo State via Ahoada in Rivers State.
Governor Douye Diri expressed his administration’s serious concern regarding the increasing frequency of power outages in the state.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, on Friday, Diri lamented the return of darkness to the state following the collapse of the two 132kV lines.
The governor indicated that the state government is collaborating with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to expedite the restoration of power.
