Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited has denied allegations by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) regarding deceptive labeling and marketing tactics. In a recent statement, the company reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and compliance with national regulatory requirements.
The FCCPC had accused Coca-Cola and the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) of misleading consumers by describing their “Original Taste, Less Sugar” variant as having the same formulation as the “Original Taste” variant. The commission demanded that the companies ensure clear differentiation between the two products and comply with regulatory standards.
In response, Coca-Cola Nigeria emphasized its commitment to safeguarding consumer interests and working collaboratively with the government. The company stated that it has adhered to all relevant regulations and looks forward to resolving the issue with the FCCPC.
The beverage giant highlighted that its packaging provides accessible nutrition information and meets national requirements, demonstrating its dedication to maintaining transparency and upholding high standards for its consumers.
