A sensitisation outreach on preventive measures to tackle malaria and malnutrition among pregnant women and children under 5 years has been organised by Rotary Club, Oyo district.
According to reports, most under-5 mortality in Nigeria is attributed to communicable diseases such as malaria, measles, diarrhea, cholera, and respiratory diseases.
Meanwhile, illiteracy, rural residence, lack of prenatal dietary advice, among other factors have been identified as major causes of malnutrition among pregnant women, which calls for collective action to address these issues.
But what are the challenges faced by health workers in Ibadan communities in their efforts to address these issues?
Th outreach also featured the distribution of mosquito nets, check ups and distribution of drugs to patients in the community.
