President Bola Tinubu has enacted a law that mandates a 300% increase in salaries and allowances for judicial officers.
This information was disclosed on Tuesday by Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters.
Lado emphasized that this move highlights Tinubu’s strong commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian workers.
“This significant action demonstrates Mr. President’s unwavering focus on the well-being of Nigerian workers, as seen when he recently paused a Federal Executive Council meeting to sign the new National Minimum Wage Bill of N70,000 into law,” Lado said.
He further explained that the new law outlines revised salaries, allowances, and benefits for judicial officers, amending the provisions of the Certain Political, Public, and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.), Act, No.6, 2002, by removing sections related to judicial office holders.
Lado praised President Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “In a display of visionary leadership and deep compassion for the Nigerian people, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCON has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the nation’s workforce by approving the revised salaries and allowances for judicial officers.”
“This decision underscores the President’s dedication to ensuring that every worker in Nigeria, especially those in critical roles, is adequately recognized and compensated.”
Lado concluded by stating that under President Tinubu’s administration, the welfare of workers has become a cornerstone of national development.
