Forty Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists killed in Borno airstrikes: NAF

The air component of Operation Hadin Kai has successfully eliminated five key terrorist commanders and over 35 foot soldiers in an airstrike in Arina, Southern Tumbuns, Borno.

This was announced by Nigerian Air Force spokesman Edward Gabkwet in a statement on Wednesday. He identified the commanders killed in the August 16 airstrikes as Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla (aka Dan Hausawan Jubillaram), Ameer Modu, Dan Fulani Fari Fari, and Bakoura Arina Chiki.

Gabkwet stated that the operation aimed to further weaken terrorist remnants in the North-East while protecting civilians and troops. Intelligence had revealed the movement of terrorists into the area from neighboring locations before the mission.

The statement added that confirmatory intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions conducted on August 12 and 15 identified numerous terrorists and hidden structures, leading to coordinated airstrikes that neutralized several terrorists and destroyed their hideouts.
