A Davenport Iowa police officer shot and killed a dog in front of two young boys and their father who owned him.
The Police said that the dog was aggressive. The dog’s owner says the 2-year-old named dog Myst was his best buddy

More than 1,500 people have signed an online petition that demands accountability for a Davenport Police officer who shot and killed a family dog on Aug. 21.
An officer, whose name has not been officially released while an investigation continues, responded to a call in Davenport about four aggressive dogs when the incident happened.
The petition says the officer’s “recklessness and lack of effort to deescalate … is unacceptable. His actions have caused this Davenport family an immense amount of grief, and endangered innocent children who were present during the incident.
