The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, said five communities in Fune local government areas have been severely impacted by the latest wave of flood disaster in the state.
This was while conducting an assessment to determine the extent of damage and displacement caused by the flooding, with a view to highlighting the urgent need for continued support and intervention.
“The assessment is in line with the directives of Governor Mai Mala Buni, aimed at coming up with profiles of the victims towards providing them with immediate, short and long lasting solutions”, SEMA added.
According to the agency the affected communities are: Ngelzarma, Damagum, Kayeri, Mashio and Kafaje with a total number of 1,598 households severely impacted by the disaster.
“There have been 44 reported injuries and sadly a number of deaths across the five assessed wards were recorded as detailed below”, it said.
