Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for worsening attacks on media and civil society organizations. Abubakar criticized the arrest of Joe Ajaero, president of the

Nigeria Labour Congress, and the alleged invasion of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project office by the Department of State Services.

He criticized the regime’s “profoundly disturbing” assault on civil society and the media, comparing it to the harshest days of military dictatorship.
