Selective outrage? Dele Momodu goes from praising Osun election results to criticizing INEC for Edo election outcome – Omokri

Reno Omokri notes Dele Momodu’s contradictory reactions to gubernatorial elections in Osun and Edo states. In Osun, he praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when his friend, Senator Ademola Adeleke, won.

However, in Edo, Momodu criticized INEC, calling the election “distressing, disgusting, and depressing.” Omokri argues that this behavior shows a lack of political maturity, emphasizing the need for individuals to uphold democratic principles regardless of personal biases and affiliations.

Under APC, the Independent National Electoral Commission conducted a gubernatorial election in Osun State, and the Peoples Democratic Party defeated the ruling All Progressive Congress in a state that some in the opposition claimed is the actual state of origin of the National Leader of the APC.

After that election, Dele Momodu praised the INEC and publicly rejoiced with the winner of that election, his friend, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Today, the same Dele Momodu attacked the INEC he once praised, claiming that the #EdoDecides24 election is “distressing, disgusting and depressing”.

It shows that we are not politically mature when we only celebrate and accept elections we won and condemn those we lost. Democracy should not be altered to suit our whims and caprices. Instead, we must adapt our temperament to suit democracy.
