Libya has the lowest petrol prices in Africa, with octane-95 gasoline costing just 0.15 Libyan dinars per litre. This is only behind Iran in the global ranking. Other African countries with low petrol prices include Egypt, Algeria, and Angola.
Nigeria, an oil-producing country, has the highest petrol prices at N1,000 per litre, with black market rates reaching N1,400. Other high-priced countries include the Central African Republic, Senegal, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Morocco, and Uganda. Nigerians have criticized Libya’s petrol prices, comparing it to bottle water and comparing it to Nigeria.
