Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has pledged to impose sanctions on officials found guilty of a convicted cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, who was given an apartment outside the prison. He assured that senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) would ensure an unhindered investigation.
Tunji-Ojo also praised the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for arresting 2,254 vandals and oil bunkerers, securing 122 convictions, and disrupting organized crime networks. The reform of the private security sector has also seen impressive results.
