Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, says the economic policies of the President Bola Tinubu administration are “designed to foster long term stability and sustainable growth”.
Speaking in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Abiodun said the policies require “collective commitment and sacrifice” from Nigerians.
The governor delivered the remarks at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, at an event to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary.
Abiodun said the challenges facing the country are real and require “immediate and sustained action”.
“Today, Nigeria faces turbulent economic times. Global economic pressures, coupled with domestic challenges, have placed significant strain on our resources,” he said.
“Rising inflation, unemployment, and the cost of living have impacted the lives of many, creating anxiety about the future. These challenges are real and urgent, requiring immediate and sustained action.
“As citizens, this is a time for deep reflection and prayer for the continued progress and stability of our nation.
“We must remain united, support one another, and be patient as we work together to navigate this journey.
“The president’s economic policies are designed to foster long-term stability and sustainable growth, and they require our collective commitment and sacrifice from all of us.”
He added that Nigeria is paying for years of misguided policies and poor governance.
