Tech journalist Kara Swisher just envisioned how Elon Musk’s X could evolve now that Donald Trump has secured a second term as president.
Swisher appeared on CNN on Wednesday morning to talk about Musk’s potential place in the forthcoming Trump administration and how she thinks it will impact his businesses.
Sharing her personal predictions, Swisher told CNN’s Kasie Hunt that it’s more than likely that X, formerly Twitter, and Donald Trump’s social media site, Truth Social, could merge into one massively profitable online “propaganda organ.”
While she called both X and Truth Social “terrible business[es]” on paper, Swisher said Trump and Musk have the opportunity to make “a lot of money” by taking X public and turning the sites into “meme stocks,” a term which describes companies whose shares go boom and bust based on viral popularity instead of traditional business metrics.
