President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday evening that he has selected Linda McMahon to lead the Department of Education.
McMahon, 76, served during Trump’s first term in office as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration.
“It is my great honor to announce that Linda McMahon, former Administrator of the Small Business Administration, will be the United States Secretary of Education,” Trump said in a statement.
McMahon has spent the last four years serving as the Chair of the Board at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI).
“So proud of my friend and America First Patriot @Linda_McMahon for answering the call to head the Department of Education!” said AFPI Executive Director Chad Wolf.
“As a strong supporter of school choice and parental rights, there is no one better to expel the woke agenda in our education system and put our children first,” he added.
So proud of my friend and America First…
