The Chairman, Landlords Association, Logo II, Thaddeus Ahule, commended the state government for remembering the flood victims.
The Benue State Government on Saturday distributed palliatives to 2024 flood victims in Makurdi, the state capital.
Inaugurating the distribution at Logo II in Makurdi, the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, James Iorpuu, said that six centres were selected for the victims to receive their support.
Mr Iorpuu stated that those who were captured by SEMA during its enumeration exercise after the flood and received tokens would benefit from the gesture.
The executive secretary assured those who were affected but not captured that they would be taken care of in due course.
He explained that the agency had already submitted the list of those affected by the 2024 flood to the Federal Government through the National Emergency Management Agency for appropriate intervention.
Mr Iorpuu pointed out that the palliatives were one of the measures taken by the state government to cushion the effect of the disaster on the victims.
The ES listed the six centres for distribution to include High Level, Achussah, Logo II, Gyado Villa, Wadata, and Modern Market.
Mr Iorpuu, however, appealed to the beneficiaries to be of good conduct during the exercise and make judicious use of the items.
