The Lagos State Government has clarified that a video which began trending online on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, showing a heated argument between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and a young woman, is not recent. The incident, according to the government, actually occurred in 2019.

According to Gawat, at the time of the incident, Sanwo-Olu was a governorship aspirant who was only engaging with attendees in a question-and-answer session.
Gawat’s statement reads: “This encounter here happened in January 28, 2019 when Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu was aspiring to be Governor of Lagos State. A young woman stood up to ask a question, just like others had done. She started being rude and raising her voice.
