NAFDAC cracks down, seizes N3.8b worth of unregistered food products in Lagos

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated unregistered food items valued at over N3.8 billion during a raid on a warehouse at Apongbon Oke Arin Market in Lagos.

NAFDAC in a statement on Tuesday said the operation was carried out by NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate following a tip-off about the sale of unregistered food products at the facility.

The agency noted that the seized items valued at N3,818,802,720 have been impounded.

It added that the warehouse has been placed on hold pending further investigation.

“The warehouse management has been summoned for questioning, and appropriate sanctions will follow after investigations,” NAFDAC said…
