Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved N100,000 for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state to enable them to have a fulfilling Christmas celebration.
The Head of Civil Service, Rivers State, George Nwaeke, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement said the 2024 Christmas bonus will be paid to workers in various ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as pensioners in the civil and public service.
It noted that the directive is for immediate implementation to enable civil servants to have a wonderful yuletide celebration.
Nwaeke said: “I wish to state that this is the second time within the administration of His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, that civil servants in the state will be receiving Christmas bonuses to the tune of one hundred thousand naira, an amount which is above the value of the nation’s minimum wage, and the first time that pensioners are being included.”
