The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has classified the country’s risk level for Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) as “moderate.”
In a public health advisory issued on Monday, the NCDC confirmed that the Nigerian Government is actively monitoring the situation and taking steps to enhance preparedness and response measures.
The agency, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, WHO, USCDC, and UKHSA, conducted a thorough risk assessment. This has informed Nigeria’s response strategies to mitigate any potential impact from HMPV.
