The ancient palace of the Alaafin of Oyo was filled with wild celebration following the announcement of the approval of Prince Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
In a video shared on Facebook by “Oyo Legacies” the joyous occasion was captured with the caption: “On the announcement of the Alaafin-designate of Oyo at the ancient palace of the Alaafin of Oyo.”
In the video, people were seen dancing to the beats of traditional drummers.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, stated that Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade, after thorough consultations and divinations, has been recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State.
