Kano well collapse leaves one person dead

One person has died and two others rescued following after a well collapsed in Gargajiga town, Minjibir Local Government Area, Kano State, on Thursday.

In a statement on Friday, spokesperson for the state Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, said the incident happened during the re-digging and repairing of the well.

The incident was said to have been reported by one Bashir Namadi, who made a distress call before the Kano State Fire Service took action.

“Three people were involved: one inside the well and two outside. The sides of the well gave way, causing it to collapse and burying all three individuals,” it said.
