Putin hosts Iran’s Pezeshkian: LIVE UPDATES

The two leaders are to sign the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian are signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement and holding a press conference in Moscow.

The two leaders have said that the landmark document, which will cover numerous areas ranging from defense and energy cooperation to culture and science, will give a new impetus to bilateral ties.

Putin and Pezeshkian are also expected to address burgeoning cooperation in the nuclear sphere, particularly regarding the expansion of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, as well as the current state of international affairs, including in the Middle East.

Putin has already met Pezeshkian twice, who was sworn into office last summer, with the most recent meeting at the BRICS summit in Kazan in late October.
