The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maitama Yusuf Tuggar, has said Nigeria has been accepted by members of the BRICS economic bloc as a partner.
Ambassador Tuggar said the acceptance underscored the country’s commitment to fostering international collaboration.
Naija News reported that Nigeria, among other 13 countries, sought to be a member nation of BRICS during the bloc’s last meeting in October in Brazil.
According to a statement on Saturday, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Nigeria would leverage BRICS to advance shared goals in trade and investment.
