CONTRARY to reports, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Marcus Gundiri has no plan to transform into a political party but designed to ethnic nationalities for economic liberation and poverty reduction.
Gundiri, who is the national chairman of the Gongola Peoples Forum (GPF), gave the clarification during an interview with journalists in Yola, the state capital.
He said GPF is a convergence of various ethnic nationalities united in their quest to eradicate poverty and empower the people of the region.
“With a rich history of peaceful coexistence dating back to 1705, the Gongola valley has been a melting pot of diverse cultures, where intermarriages and harmonious relationships were the norm, until the arrival of colonial powers in 1805 disrupted this balance.
“The GPF’s objective is to harness the region’s vast resources, including its fertile land, to drive economic growth and development,’ he stressed.
