The former Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Peter Okebukola, has emphasised the significant potential of Nigerian cultural fabrics to drive economic empowerment, particularly among young people.
Okebukola noted that such initiatives serve as a vital link between cultural heritage and modern entrepreneurship.
Speaking at a Cultural Fabric Entrepreneurship Programme in Lagos the professor stressed the need for young people to acquire skills in traditional art, adding that it empowers the next generation to leverage Nigeria’s rich cultural wealth for global relevance.
By doing so, Okebukola, who was represented by Dr Franklin Onowugbeda, said young people can become custodians of their heritage while contributing meaningfully to economic growth.
He spoke on the theme: “Harnessing Cultural Fabrics for Entrepreneurial Success.”
