SDP’s former presidential candidate Adewale Adebayo has revealed that ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and other top politicians are in talks to join the party. Speaking on Channels Sunday Politics, Adebayo confirmed discussions with their representatives, stating, “All these people you have mentioned—El-Rufai, Atiku, Obi—are coming.
A lot of people are coming, and we will welcome them.” He emphasized the need for defectors to adapt to SDP’s culture, noting, “Some are used to Boy Scout-like activities, but we are dealing with that.”
Adebayo expressed confidence in SDP’s potential to unseat the APC, saying, “If they stick to our culture, we’ll defeat APC and retire Tinubu.” The move signals a possible major political realignment ahead of 2027.
