Farming banned from Marabar Kankara to Yantumaki, dozens killed/kidnapped, healthcare collapsed
Armed bandits reportedly led by a notorious kingpin known as Babaro have taken full control of Kankara Local Government Area in Katsina State. The heavily armed group has imposed restrictions on farming, banned agricultural activities, and left several communities in disarray.
Witnesses say the invasion stretches from Marabar Kankara to Yantumaki, with multiple reports of killings, abductions, and the collapse of basic services, including healthcare. Panic has spread throughout the region as residents flee or remain trapped in fear.
“Bandits led by feared warlord, Babaro seize control of Kankara LGA, Katsina State. Farming banned from Marabar Kankara to Yantumaki, dozens killed/kidnapped, healthcare collapsed. Residents beg Gov Dikko Radda & FG for urgent intervention,” one concerned observer said.
