Iran says President Pezeshkian sustained a leg injury during an Israeli airstrike on a Tehran facility last month, according to Fars News Agency.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian suffered a minor leg injury while escaping an Israeli airstrike on June 16, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency.

The strike reportedly targeted a secure government facility in Western Tehran where Pezeshkian was meeting with senior officials. Fars, run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said six bombs or missiles struck entry and exit points to hinder evacuation and cut power to the floor.

Officials, including the president, escaped through an emergency hatch. Pezeshkian and several others reportedly sustained minor leg injuries during the escape.

The outlet claimed the assault mirrored an Israeli operation that killed Hezbollah’s Seyed Hassan Nasrallah in September.

The strike occurred on the fourth day of the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran. Israel has said its airstrikes targeted top Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists to prevent weapons development.

The war ended with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire after a June 22 American stealth strike on three of Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites.
