Only those who submitted an interest-to-sponsor form in 2020 will be eligible.
Canada’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship department (IRCC) has announced that invitations for the 2025 Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will be sent to potential sponsors beginning July 28.
Only those who submitted an interest-to-sponsor form in 2020 will be eligible. “Our goal is to accept up to 10,000 complete applications under the federal Parents and Grandparents Program,” IRCC stated.
A total of 17,860 potential sponsors will receive invitations and can apply online via the Permanent Residence Portal or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal.
IRCC advised applicants to monitor their inboxes, including spam folders. “IRCC will only send invitations to apply to potential sponsors from the 2020 pool of submissions and won’t be opening a new interest-to-sponsor form,” it clarified.
Those not selected can consider the super visa, which allows parents and grandparents to stay in Canada for up to five years, with an option to extend.
