A man has revealed a little known  hack for ‘hiding’ apps on an iPhone, by changing their name and symbols to easily disguise them – but many people say it makes it ‘easy to cheat’.  

TikTok user Kaansanity, 21, from the US, often shares tech tips online to his 4.5million followers.

But many have said his latest hack will make it easy to for those in relationships to hide any apps they shouldn’t be using such a Tinder and Bumble – by making the dating app appear as something more mundane.

In the clip, which has more than two million views, the influencer shows how to change the app icons from the 'shortcuts' app.

How to ‘disguise your app on an iPhone’ 

1. Open Shortcuts app

2.  Click the ‘+’ sign to add a new shortcut

3. Click ‘Add Action’

4. Search ‘Open App’ in search bar

5.  Click Open Ap

6. Choose App to hide

7. Click three dots in right hand corner

8. Click add to home screen

9. Add name you want to appear on app

10. Add photo  to match 

Showing viewers how to complete the hack, Kaan revealed how to change the face of his Tinder app.

In the clip, which has more than two million views, the influencer opens the Apple Shortcuts app, which is automatically downloaded on new iPhones and free from the app store for all users.

Once opened, iPhone users can click on the plus button and add action, he shows.

Next, users can search for the ‘Open App’ option and then click on a button with multicoloured squares.  

He then adds the app to his home screen and changes the name to ‘weather’ and the picture to the logo usually used for Apple’s weather app.

But it’s not the weather app and is instead Tinder. 

The clip has racked up thousands of comments, with many saying it made them suspicious of their partners. 

‘Why are you teaching people to be more shady,’ one wrote. 

‘Ok now I’m about to click on all my man’s apps,’ joked another. 

‘It’s actually how to make an aesthetic Home Screen on iOS,’ commented a third.

‘This is a game changer,’ added a fourth. 

Some went as far to brand Kaan a ‘genius’ and a true legend’. 

Others pointed out that after doing the trick they could still see the original app, and it will also show up if suspicious partners search in the app library. 

While some even suggested you can add a condition to add a password when opening the app for those trying to be extra sneaky.
