Nigerian lawmaker, Yuguda Kila, dies at 70

A member representing Gwaram Federal Constituency, Yuguda Hassan Kila, has died at the age of 70.

Mr Kila, who was chairman of the House Committee on Customs, died on Thursday afternoon at the National Hospital, Abuja after brief illness.

A retired customs comptroller, the late politician began his basic education at Kila Primary School and subsequently Igbo Union Grammar School in Kano.

He also attended the prestigious Barewa College in Zaria and later attended the College of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

In 2015, he was elected member of the House of Representatives on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, to represent Gwaram Constituency.

He was re-elected for the same position in 2019 general elections.
