Mukhtar Sanusi has told SCORENigeria he is thrilled that Dynamo Brest held BATE Borisov to a goalless draw on his league debut.
Sanusi, who is the youngest player on the Brest squad, came on in the 70th minute as the home team pegged back BATE Borisov 0-0.
They now have four points from two matches and are third on the table in Belarus.
“It was encouraging to draw with a good team like BATE Borisov, the whole team were happy with the result,” Sanusi told SCORENigeria
“We created some chances in the first half, but in the second we did a lot more defending as our opponents tried to score the winning goal.”
He said he played rather cautiously because that was his first official game for Dynamo.
“I would have loved to have done more in attack, express myself and show my qualities, but I spent a lot more time in defence as BATE came at us after halftime,” he said.
“It was my first official game, it was okay, I played it safe.
“I hope to keep working hard and take my chances when they come.”
Over 4,000 fans turned out to watch the game.
