Well it seems nothing can come between Donald Trump and his Coke – not even his call for the boycott of the product.
A bottle of a drink that looks like Coke was spotted on the desk of the office of the Former US president — even though he recently urged his supporters to stop patronizing the drink for political reasons.
Stephen Miller, Trump’s former senior White House adviser, posted what seemed to be an innocuous photo on Twitter of himself with the ex-president in his Florida office.
“Just had a terrific meeting with President Trump!” Miller captioned the pic, in which both men smiled.
But eagled eyed fans noticed the shape of what appeared to be a glass bottle of Coke hidden behind a landline phone on his desk.
Over the weekend, Trump called on his supporters to boycott Coca-Cola and several other companies that condemned Georgia Republicans for enacting new voting restrictions that critics say are designed to disenfranchise Black voters in the state.
“Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck,” Trump said in a statement Saturday.
“Don’t go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them.”
Trump is reportedly an avid Coke consumer. The former U.S. president consumed so much Coke while in the White House that he reportedly had a special button installed on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office that he could press whenever he wanted a drink. Once he pressed the red button, “a White House butler soon arrived with a Coke for the president,” according to an Associated Press report.
Some Twitter users criticized the Republican leader for his hypocrisy.
