AWOL Army soldier tried to bring gun on flight, claimed to be law enforcement officer, prosecutors say

A soldier went AWOL from a Kentucky Army base and boarded a flight earlier this year with a gun while impersonating a law enforcement officer, federal prosecutors said. 

Jaidan Higueros, 19, claimed to be transporting evidence from a criminal case on a Feb. 15 United Airlines flight from Chicago to Nashville, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday. 

He is charged with carrying a weapon or explosive on an aircraft and false personation of an officer or employee of the United States.
