Bayern Munich have been confirmed as Bundesliga champions for the ninth consecutive season before their clash with Borussia Monchengladbach has even kicked off.

Confirmation of their coronation comes after their nearest challengers RB Leipzig failed to beat Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in the earlier kick off, with Jadon Sancho’s late goal securing a dramatic 3-2 win for the home side.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men now have just two games of the season remaining and can no longer bridge the seven point gap between themselves and Die Roten.

Bayern have now been crowned kings of Germany for nine consecutive campaigns – a German top-flight record – with Hansi Flick notching his second Bundesliga title at the helm of the Bavarian giants.

Despite a spirited effort from RB Leipzig, Bayern’s charge towards the 2020/21 Bundesliga trophy has rarely looked like faltering. Flick’s side have suffered just four league defeats all season with the goals of Robert Lewandowski in particular firing them to the title.

Despite missing a month of action after straining ligaments in his knee recently, the Poland international is still far and away the league’s top scorer having bagged a sensational 36 goals in 26 outings.Robert Lewandowski has again been pivotal to Bayern's success

Flick will leave Bayern at the end of the season having enjoyed a hugely successful spell at the Allianz Arena.

Speculation surrounding the German tactician’s next move has continued to circulate since he announced he would be stepping down as Bayern boss, with many expecting him to take over from Joachim Low with the German national team after Euro 2020.

However, Flick recently revealed he’d held talks with other clubs regarding his future, suggesting his move to Die Mannschaft may not been as rubber stamped as first thought. RB Leipzig manager Nagelsmann will take charge of Bayern Munich following Flick’s departure this summer.
