Journalist bodies welcome SC verdict on sedition case against Vinod Dua

A day after the Supreme court quashed the sedition case against journalist Vinod Dua, journalist bodies, including the Editors Guild of India (EGI), welcomed the verdict on Friday.

The Supreme Court on Thursday said that every journalist is entitled to protection, any detention or FIR is subject to the law laid down earlier. However, the court declined to order the setting up of a committee to review any complaints of sedition against journalists.
