Dr. Dre has been ordered by a court to pay his ex-wife, Nicole Young almost $300,000 every month in spousal support.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the music mogul and his ex-wife were both in court for a hearing this week, hashing out specifics of how much will be paid in temporary spousal support. In the order, Dr. Dre was ordered to pay $293,306 per month to his ex-wife, which is due on the first of every month.
“[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021,” Dre will pay a total of $3,519,672 per year until Nicole remarries or “enters into a new domestic partnership,” the court document obtained by The Blast.
Dr. Dre is reportedly also responsible for paying Nicole’s health insurance and other fees, including “the expenses for the Malibu, and Pacific Palisades homes.”
The reported that this order could be temporary as the former couple, who was married for two and a half decades, continue financial negotiations.
In June, Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the hip-hop mogul.
Dre and Nicole Young married in 1996. It was the first marriage for Dre. Young was previously married to NBA player Sedale Threatt. The pair share two adult children together, daughter Truly Young, 19, and son Truice Young, 23. The rapper has four children from previous relationships.
