Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was delighted by the news of Emile Smith Rowe’s long-term contract.

He said: “As we all saw last season, Emile is an intelligent player with excellent ability.

“His sharpness on the turn and exceptional vision have already made him a key player for us. His attitude and willingness to learn have also been very impressive.

“I know the fans will join us in being delighted that Emile has committed his future to the club.”

Technical director Edu said: “It’s great to see another young player develop through our academy system to become a key part of our first team.

“Emile is a player who represents the future of the club and this is why we have given him the number 10 shirt.”

Emile Smith Rowe has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal to end speculation about his future.

The attacking midfielder, 20, has been the subject of two bids from Aston Villa this summer.

But having rejected those offers, the Gunners have given their academy graduate a lucrative new deal.

Smith Rowe will also wear the No. 10 shirt for Arsenal next season.

Demarai Gray has vowed to help Everton compete with the Premier League’s big boys after completing his move to Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old former Leicester winger has signed a three-year deal and has the option of a fourth with the Toffees as he leaves German side Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee after just six months in the Bundesliga.

He follows fellow wideman Andros Townsend and keeper Asmir Begovic to the blue half of Merseyside with new manager Rafael Benitez and director of football Marcel Brands wasting little time in re-shaping the squad for the season ahead.

Gray told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted to be back in the Premier League at such a big club and I’m excited to play with the team and get to work.

“Speaking to the manager and Marcel Brands, I had a really good feel for the club and I feel this is a place where I can continue to develop.

“The manager, with his ambition and what he has won in the past, is important and we’ll look to push forward and compete with the top clubs. I think a club of this magnitude has all the potential to be right up there.

“Collectively with what Marcel and the manager have said to me, everything fits, including the club’s ambitions and goals. Everton are a very big club and the main objective is to be pushing and competing back up there in the table.

“I want to work hard on the training pitch and work my hardest for the club on the pitch.”

Tottenham are set to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta.

The former Aston Villa man, 26, will arrive in London today ahead of a formal announcement.

Spurs are still working on a deal for his Atalanta teammate Cristian Romero, who is valued at £45million.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is yet to be reached for the highly-rated defender.

Barcelona have contacted Man City and Tottenham over their intention to sell Antoine Griezmann, according to reports.

The Spanish giants are in serious financial financial trouble with £1billion worth of debt.

And French outlet L’Equipe say Barcelona see Griezmann, who joined the club for £107million from Atletico Madrid in 2019, as their most sellable asset.

But the report adds the 30-year-old would only consider a return to Atletico and not a move to the Premier League.

A member from Griezmann’s camp told L’Equipe: “Antoine is not ready to accept any conditions to leave, simply because Barcelona find themselves in a complicated situation [financially].”

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has signed Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero on free transfers, which could push Griezmann closer to the Camp Nou exit door.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is open to the idea of moving to Arsenal this summer.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit for a while having fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.

Arsenal are one of the clubs linked with Abraham, who is understood to be interested in joining them.

However, the Athletic reports that Arsenal favour a loan move while Chelsea want to sell and are hoping to make £40million in the process.

Any approach for Abraham is thus likely to depend on outgoings for the Gunners.

Former Man City winger Trevor Sinclair insists the club won’t break the bank for Harry Kane this summer.

The Tottenham striker continues to be heavily linked with City in a deal worth £100m plus a player.

“If you look at the principles Man City try and stick to and their philosophy, I can’t see them spending £100m on a player,” Sinclair told talkSPORT Breakfast.

“They don’t want to spend that kind of money. They’ve already had to invest a lot from when Sheikh Mansour took over the football club.

“They were so far behind everybody on the pitch and not even that they had to invest into their training facility because Carrington wasn’t up to it.

“They’ve never broken [transfer] records. They’ve never been near breaking Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea.

“All the other clubs are buying players for £80m or £90m, Man City are not near that. I don’t think that’s by accident, I think that’s by design.”

Arsenal signing Albert Sambi Lokonga is primed for Premier League success thanks to his education at Anderlecht, according to the Belgian club’s sporting director Peter Verbeke.

The £17million midfielder will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans, who also emerged from the Anderlecht academy.

“I think he will settle in really well in a new club because his technical ability is that good, I don’t think there will be any adaptation problems,” he said.

“Of course, the Premier League is a higher level than the Belgian league, but the boys that have been developed at Anderlecht like Youri Tielemans and Romelu Lukaku, I think they settled in well because they got a good education at the Anderlecht academy.

“So, I expect Sambi will do the same thing.”

Gary Cahill has turned down a new contract at Crystal Palace, according to reports.

The former Chelsea defender is one of many players whose current deals expired at Selhurst Park this summer.

Palace are keen to keep him, but according to The Sun, the 35-year-old’s wage demands are too high.

Leeds have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Lewis Bate on a three-year deal.

The 18-year-old, who captained his former club in last year’s FA Youth Cup final, has joined for an undisclosed fee following interest from several Premier League clubs.

Bate has represented England at Under-17 and Under-18 level but has yet to make his senior professional debut and will join Leeds’ Under-23 side at first.

His signing further boosts Marcelo Bielsa’s group, following the summer arrivals of Junior Firpo, Jack Harrison, Shaun McGurk and Amari Miller.

Jamie O’Hara is not fully convinced by Raphael Varane as Manchester United bid to pair the Real Madrid star alongside Harry Maguire next season.

Talks between United and Madrid are ongoing as the Red Devils look to seal a £50million transfer for the France centre-back.

At 28, Varane has four Champions League titles and a World Cup to his name, establishing himself as one as the finest defenders in world football over a ten-year spell with the Spanish giants.

It is understood Madrid want to keep him, but may be forced to let Varane leave with one year left on his contract.

Manchester City have reportedly identified four players who could be used as bargaining chips in a deal for Harry Kane.

It is understood the Premier League champions have already bid £100million plus a player for the Tottenham striker.

Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling were thought to be candidates for a potential swap deal.

Now, L’Equipe reports that Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva have also emerged as potential makeweights as City step up their pursuit of Kane.

talkSPORT understands Arsenal are trying to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for £30m.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has branded the Gunners ‘a mess’ for finding themselves in this situation after selling Emi Martinez to Aston Villa for £20m…

Tottenham Hotspur are open to offers for Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Matt Doherty, talkSPORT understands.

It has been far from a quiet transfer window for Spurs following the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo as the club’s new manager.

Spurs are reshaping their squad for the upcoming season and they are close to confirming several transfers.

Bryan Gil is set to arrive from Sevilla for £21.6million in a deal which will also see Erik Lamela end his eight-year stay at the club.

Fabrizio Romano has also announced the imminent arrival of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta on an initial loan deal with the option to buy him for £12.9m.

Outgoings are also set to ramp up with Sanchez and Dier made available for transfers as Spurs look to overhaul their defence.

What might come as a shock to many, given his relationship with Nuno at Wolves, is Doherty’s possible departure.

FULL STORY.

Timo Werner could leave Chelsea after one season at the club if their bid for a new world-class striker is successful this summer.

The Germany international, 25, endured a difficult debut season at Stamford Bridge, netting just six times in 35 Premier League appearances.

Chelsea have recently been linked with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland, which could see Werner lose his place in the starting XI next season.

According to 90min, Werner is not unhappy at Chelsea but would be open to leaving if a new striker comes through the door.

It is understood the German would prefer a return to the Bundesliga, having arrived from RB Leipzig, and could possibly be used a makeweight in a deal for Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski or Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland.

Manchester United are locked in talks with Real Madrid over a move for Raphael Varane.

The France defender, 28, has one year left on his deal at the Bernabeu and wants to leave.

While the Spanish giants risk losing Varane for free next summer, they are keen for him to stay and the centre-back is respectful of their wishes.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have been in talks with Madrid for the last week.

It is understood United value the Frenchman at around £50million.

Real Madrid flop Eden Hazard has been linked with a shock return to Chelsea this summer.

The Blues legend, 30, has endured a torrid time at the Bernabeu since joining for an initial £89million in 2019.

With just five goals in two seasons, Hazard has spent most of his time injured and Madrid are reportedly happy to sell.

AS reports that the Spanish giants are planning to offer the Belgium captain back to Chelsea for just £51m.

However, with the Blues chasing several expensive targets this summer, it could be a hard sell.

Manchester United have been told they should have used the money spent to sign on Jadon Sancho to buy Harry Kane instead.

The Red Devils have shown plenty of ambition this summer and are set to announce the deal for England star Sancho imminently.

That will set them back £73million, while they’ve also been linked with a big-money move for Raphael Varane.

However, all that cash has been spent in the wrong area, according to Scott Minto.

Minto told Kick Off he feels the money would have been better spent on signing Spurs forward Kane.

Manchester United have been told to do all they can to keep Paul Pogba this summer.

The midfielder is in the final year of his Old Trafford contract, meaning this window would be one of the Red Devils’ last chance to sell him.

However, Scott Minto believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must make sure the Frenchman is a Man United player after deadline day.

Tottenham appear to be on the verge of signing a new goalkeeper.

He goes by the name of Pierluigi Gollini, who completed the first part of his Spurs medical today, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano adds that Atalanta and Italy stopper Gollini is expected to fly to London tomorrow to complete his move.

It’s understood the deal has a buy option for Spurs, which will be €15million (around £12.9m).

However, it becomes an obligation to buy if the 26-year-old makes 20 appearances for Spurs in the 2021/22 season.

Jamie O’Hara has revealed he considered signing the ultimate wonderkid, Freddy Adu.

Billericay Town were no strangers to a surprise signing but this one surely would have topped the lot.

talkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara, who used to play for and manage the non-league side, revealed how there was once a conversation about attempting to sign Football Manager icon Freddy Adu.

But any hope of Adu joining the Essex-based side were extinguished pretty early on due to issues with him being able to get a work permit.

Brentford have signed Norway international defender Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic for an undisclosed fee.

Ajer completed a medical before signing a five-year contract, with the deal subject to international clearance.

The 23-year-old joined Celtic shortly after his 18th birthday and spent the second half of his first year in Scotland on loan at Kilmarnock before becoming a first-team regular.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said: “We wanted to get another central defender in and Kris was our first choice. We think he fits the position-specific profile perfectly, especially on the ball.

“Kris is very composed and can find the right passes between the lines. His level when bringing the ball forward is very high.

“As a defender he has the physicality that you need and he won his duels when he played in the Scottish league. He can help us in both boxes, with his strength in the air.

“He is a player at a good age and we think he (can) come straight in and be ready to perform in the Premier League. But he also fits the way we want to recruit players and work with them. He can develop as a player and both Brentford FC and Kris can move to a higher level in the coming years.”

Swansea are on the hunt for a new manager after the departure of Steve Cooper.

The 41-year-old guided the Swans to the Championship play-off final in May, where they missed out on promotion to the Premier League to Brentford.

Having reportedly grown unsettled, the former England youth manager, who guided the Under-17s to World Cup glory, decided not to renew his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Cooper said: “I am very proud of what we have achieved over the past two seasons, especially getting to the play-off final, but it feels like a good time for all parties to make a change.

“It is a fantastic club, with incredible supporters and I am very grateful to them, to the players and all the staff for making me so welcome here. I wish the team every success for the future.”

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke has signed a new four-year contract at Carrow Road.

The Canaries are preparing for the start of the Premier League campaign after Farke led them back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

The 44-year-old took charge of the club in 2017 and won promotion to the Premier League in his second season at the helm.

While relegation ultimately followed, Farke remained in charge and guided the East Anglian side to the Sky Bet Championship title last year.

He has now agreed terms to keep him at Norwich until 2025 and is pleased to be staying put.

“I’m absolutely over the moon and feel pretty emotional in such a moment,” he said in a club statement announcing the new deal.

“I’m unbelievably grateful for all of the trust and support. It is a pleasure to be allowed to continue to work on this level with such a special club.

“I must also thank (sporting director) Stuart Webber for his trust and backing, my staff and players, as well as the supporters. We have a pretty special relationship in this club.

“Now it’s about going the next step, doing everything we can to make sure this club becomes an established Premier League side.”
