Ex-banker, wife, mother-In-law bag 60 years for stealing depositors’ money

A former bank cashier, Ebenezer Adeolu Alonge, his wife, Isakunle Olamide Oyinlola and his mother-in- , Isakunle Eunice Moradeke, were on Friday sentenced to 60 years in prison.

According to a statement issued in Ibadan by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office, the convicted persons were arraigned before an sitting in Ado Ekiti by .

The statement also indicated that stressed that the trio were arraigned on a 12-count of and stealing contrary to Section 390(9) of the Code Laws Cap 16 Laws of 2012.

In his judgement, the judge, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye, ruled that the prosecution team led by Abdulrasheed Lanre suleiman proved their case beyond doubt and that the convicts had failed to extricate themselves from the self-evidenced proofs before the court.

The convicts were on all the 12-count and sentenced to five years on each count.

The cumulative 60 years prison terms will, however, run concurrently.

During the trial, the EFCC called witnesses and tendered several exhibits to prove their case.
