Tears, on Thursday, flowed freely as the remains of the four members of the Christian Reform Church-Nigeria (CRC-N) unity band who died in the Taraba river were being laid to rest.
DAILY POST It would be recalled reported that the four victims died following a crash that occurred last Sunday in Sarti, the administrative headquarters of Taraba State when the bus they were travelling in plunged into a river.
The victims were said to have been on their way back to Jalingo, the state capital from the council where they had attended a musical concert.
The driver of the bus they were travelling in, had reportedly lost control of the car, plunging it into the river.
Committing the members to mother’s earth, the Regional Church Council chairman in Jalingo, Rev Jethro Musa, urged the members of the band not to be discouraged by the demised of their colleagues.
He asked the church members to see the accident as an act of God to increase their faith in Christ Jesus rather than being depressed and discouraged
While drumming that death is inevitable, he said the earth is only a preparatory ground for the heavenly journey.
The Pastor in charge of CRC-N LCC Bakin Kogi, Rev Moses Audu, described the deceased members as committed members of the church.
The deceaseds’ who according to him died in the active service of God, will not be forgotten as their legacy will be upheld by the church.
Also speaking, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Dr Isaiah Magaji Jirapye, also urged the remaining members of the band not to allow themselves be weighed down by the sudden death of their colleagues.
Jirapye who also doubles as the Vice president of the church (CRC-N) said the church will work round the clock to ensure the families of the deceased are not let down.
