Spurs fail to have shot on target as Conte's first PL game ends in draw with Everton

Antonio Conte will have his work cut out as Tottenham manager as his side scraped a 0-0 draw with Everton on Sunday.

In his first Premier League game in charge, Spurs failed to register a single shot on target while the Toffees dominated for large spells.

There was also a let off as VAR intervened to overturn a penalty given against Hugo Lloris in the second half.

Harry Kane again struggled to get into the game at all and even though it is early days for Conte, there is plenty to do.

Everton dominated the early stages of the game as Conte’s side struggled to get a foothold in the match.

Ben Godfrey had an effort saved by Hugo Lloris before Michael Keane saw a header go narrowly wide in the opening few minutes.

Harry Kane barely managed a kick in the first 45 minutes as the Toffees looked the more likely to score but could not break the deadlock.

Jordan Pickford had a very quiet half with Spurs not managing a shot on target at all.

Tottenham had their best effort when Sergio Reguilon’s shot from the edge of the box was headed out for a corner.

Ben Davies then saw an effort go narrowly wide before the biggest incident of the game…
