Harry Kane believes referee Paul Tierney made the right call by not sending him off for his first-half challenge on Andy Robertson.

The Tottenham striker caught the Liverpool left-back with his studs and escaped a dismissal after a VAR check was completed.

Asked after the game if he felt he was in danger of seeing red, Kane told Sky Sports: “No, definitely not.

“I thought it was a strong tackle but I thought I won the ball. I haven’t seen it back but when you’re playing against top sides and you’re fighting for points all over the place, sometimes it’s going to have strong tackles and look if they’ve checked it and stayed as a yellow card, we move on.
