1. Many were feared dead and a dozen others sustained various degrees of injuries when suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked a community in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. According to a source, Air Task Force fighter jet came about 2 hours but the damage had been done.

2. Seven people were killed in a violent clash between Ichen and Ndakka ethnic groups in the Bissola chiefdom of Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State. It was learnt that the clash started late Saturday following the removal of a ward head, from the Ndakka tribe, allegedly by the chief of Bissola who is from the Ichen tribe.

3. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned what it called “the indefensible insensitivity” of the APC to the escalated killings in Sokoto, Niger, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau states and other parts of the country by terrorists. The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement on Sunday, charged President Muhammadu Buhari to demonstrate leadership and empathy by visiting the troubled states.

4. Chairman, Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, Danjuma Suleiman Nalango, has ordered the closure of all public and private primary, secondary and tertiary schools in the local government area over a planned bandits attack on schools in order to abduct school children in Zungeru and neighbouring communities.

5. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, has said that it is unfortunate that the country seems to be in a war situation under the administration of a retired General. He said this at the weekend at the party’s headquarters in Abuja while speaking with journalists.

6. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has stated that the Anti-Open Grazing Law cannot work because it is targeted at some people and their means of livelihood. The South-East Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, said this in an interview in Awka, Anambra State.

7. A commercial bus yesterday, somersaulted along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State, killing four passengers on the spot–two men and two women. It was learnt that 14 other passengers sustained injuries in the accident which occurred around Lufwape at about 3:40pm on Sunday.

8. The Nasarawa State Government has banned the use and sales of charcoal in the state to protect the environment. Mr Aliyu Agwai, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, announced this while addressing newsmen on Saturday in Lafia.

9. President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday condemned the renewed terrorist killings in Kaduna State, saying that the gruesome nature of recent incidents in Kauran Fawa, Marke and Ruhiya of Idasu Ward of Giwa Local Government Area, has made him particularly sad and the killings unacceptable. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement.

10. An Abuja-based radiologist, Dr Obialo Ibe, and his yet-to-be-identified friend, have been reportedly murdered in his residence in the Games Village area of the Federal Capital Territory. One Anthony Ogbo on Facebook, quoting Ibe’s younger sister, Adanna, said the slain doctor was slated to leave for the United States of America with his friend the day they were murdered.
