The Federal Government on Sunday advised Nigerians against non-essential local and international travels during the festive period as COVID-19 cases continued to rise in the country. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control gave the advice in its latest COVID-19 situation report obtained by The PUNCH on Sunday as the Lagos State Government vowed to get tough with violators of compulsory tests for international inbound passengers.


While airfares offered by the local operators have twice doubled and cost an average of N100,000 for less than an hour flight, the number of flight delays has also hit a frustrating threshold with travellers left to lament and weep at the airport terminals without succour, The Guardian reports.


By failing to assent to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill and communicate same to the National Assembly within the time stipulated by the constitution, This Day reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, might have resolved to sign the bill forwarded to him by the legislature on November 19, 2021


According to Daily Trust, members of the National Assembly last night expressed reservations as President Muhammadu Buhari refused to act on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill presented to him for assent by the legislature, 30 days ago


Just a few weeks to the commence­ment of the revised safety threshold handling rates, the chairmen and the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the five handling companies in Nigeria have signed a joint agreement that will ensure compliance with the new charges, according to Daily Independent.
