Tottenham drew 1-1 with Southampton at St Mary’s on Tuesday after Harry Kane’s penalty against their ten-man hosts.
Saints enjoyed by far the better of the first-half and were rewarded for their hard work with James Ward-Prowse’s fine strike from the edge of the area.
Mohammed Salisu’s long throw was not cleared far enough and Ward-Prowse scored for the third game running.
There was a growing sense of frustration from the St Mary’s faithful over referee Anthony Taylor’s decision-making, leading to Ralph Hasenhuttl earning a booking shortly after Salisu earned a first yellow of his own.
But there was no complaining when the defender wiped out Son Heung-min in the area after 39 minutes, gifting Spurs a route back into the game that Kane duly took – scoring with Southampton down to ten due to Salisu’s second booking.
