After shelling out a whopping £400,000(N225.6m) on a 5.5-carat white radiant-cut platinum ring to potentially propose to his girlfriend, a man was left stunned to learn she’d been ‘meeting up’ with someone else.
But after one of their nights out, he was shocked to discover flirty messages between her and another man on Instagram, when she logged into her account on his phone.
He says the exchanges appear to show the woman and the stranger discussing meeting up and they referred to Mohs as an ‘ex’, even though they were still an item at the time – although she had asked Mohs for a little ‘space’.
Unimpressed, the 25-year-old from Chelsea, London, confronted his girlfriend about the messages, only to be blocked by her – signalling an end to their relationship.
As such, the £400k ring was left to languish in the jewellers and never made it onto the intended finger as the couple neared their one-year anniversary.
Mohs has since received a refund for the sparkly piece of jewellery.
