Two men have been charged with armed robbery after the brothers of both Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold were held up at gunpoint.

Sports agents Tyler Alexander-Arnold and Dane Rashford were having breakfast in a cafe back in 2019 when a gang of men entered with a shotgun, machete and baseball bat.

The group demanded valuables while inside the Little Rock restaurant in Moss Side, stealing Rashford’s watch and Alexander-Arnold’s wallet among items from three others.

Also stolen was the ket to Alexander-Arnold’s white Range Rover, which was used as a getaway car to flee the scene.

Following a three-year investigation in which six people aged between 17 and 58 were brought in for questioning, Romario Harmer and Talleko Lemonious faced five charges of robbery and possession of weapons.

Rashford and Alexander-Arnold had met alongside three friends with the plan of going to see Liverpool play Brighton at the Amex on the evening of January 12 2019.
