The claim by Adamu Garba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his Facebook page that Algeria was ready to give free electricity to the Niger Republic to cushion the effect of the sanctions on the country by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is false.
Findings have shown that the claim is false because neither the Nigerien military junta has acknowledged the claim nor the Algerian government made such a claim. Also, no media has reported the claim.
