A babysitter in Kansas discovered a man hiding under a child’s bed after the child complained about a “monster.” While trying to reassure the child, the babysitter came face-to-face with the intruder, leading to a physical altercation in which one child was knocked over. The suspect fled the scene but was arrested the next morning after a brief chase with deputies.
The 27-year-old suspect, who had a protection order barring him from the residence, was booked on multiple charges, including aggravated kidnapping, burglary, battery, child endangerment, and violating the order. Law enforcement responded to the incident late Monday night near Great Bend. The suspect remains in county jail on a $500,000 bond.
